Jason Rolland is the Senior Vice President of Materials at Carbon, a leading 3D printing technology company transforming how products are designed, manufactured, and brought to market. With a background that spans chemistry, materials science, and entrepreneurship, Jason has spent his career at the intersection of innovation and impact. At Carbon, he leads the development of advanced materials that power the company’s groundbreaking Digital Light Synthesis™ (DLS™) technology, enabling scalable, sustainable, and end-use production across industries.

Previously, Jason co-founded Liquidia Technologies, served as Senior Director of Research at Diagnostics for All, and has authored more than 25 current and pending patents. His expertise lies in leveraging materials science to solve real-world challenges — from sustainable product design to onshoring manufacturing for resilience and speed.

Jason’s work has influenced industries as diverse as automotive, consumer goods, medical devices, and sporting equipment. Whether helping create lighter, more durable parts or accelerating product development timelines, he is passionate about how digital production and next-generation materials can unlock innovation while reducing environmental impact.

With a PhD in chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill and a BS in chemistry from Virginia Tech, Jason brings a rare combination of technical depth and entrepreneurial experience to conversations about the future of manufacturing.
