Mike Haydon is the CEO of The Off-Grid Shop, an Australian leader in renewable energy solutions that’s pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in decentralized energy. With over 17 years of experience in sales, marketing, and leading SMEs, Mike pivoted his expertise into the solar and renewable energy sector, where he quickly established himself as a pioneer.
He founded the Solar 247 Initiative in 2010 , where his team has designed and installed advanced Battery based solar systems—up to 100kW—for some of Australia’s most challenging environments. Under his leadership, the company has installed more than 5.2 megawatt hours of storage annually, introducing several industry firsts in the process.
Today, through The Off-Grid Shop, Mike’s mission goes beyond installations. He’s focused on educating businesses, communities, and individuals about the potential of peer-to-peer energy trading, decentralized renewable infrastructure, and blockchain-based energy solutions. He believes the future of energy lies not in centralized grids, but in local, independent systems that empower people, reduce costs, and accelerate sustainability.
